Today, at the Cahul District Council, the workshop “Integrity Whistleblowers at the Local Level: From Theory to Practice” was held, organized by Transparency International Moldova. The event brought together public officials from the district council, mayors, and secretaries of local councils, all eager to strengthen their capacities in integrity and anti-corruption practices.
The workshop is part of a national program launched by Transparency International Moldova, aimed at promoting a culture of integrity in local public administration and explaining the legal mechanisms for reporting misconduct. Participants discussed the role of integrity whistleblowers in identifying and reporting irregularities, as well as the responsibilities of local institutions in protecting them.
During the training, TI-Moldova experts presented both the theoretical framework and practical case studies, providing concrete examples on preventing abuses, using public funds efficiently, and enhancing transparency in administration. Discussions highlighted the need for clear, easily applicable procedures at the local level, as well as the importance of continuous awareness-raising among elected officials and public servants.
