Today, the Cahul District Council formalized an important institutional partnership by signing a Collaboration Memorandum with the Institute of Ecology and Geography of the State University of Moldova. The agreement establishes long-term cooperation in environmental protection, sustainable development, and improving the quality of life in Cahul District.
The partnership aims to strengthen institutional capacities, facilitate the exchange of scientific expertise, conduct studies and analyses on environmental conditions, and implement joint projects in areas such as climate change, sustainable management of natural resources, ecosystem protection, and local socio-economic development. Additionally, the agreement provides advisory support for local public administrations and ensures the dissemination of relevant research results for the district.
The Memorandum is valid for five years, with the possibility of extension, and represents a significant step in fostering collaboration between the academic community and local public administration for the benefit of the community. The document was signed by Ms. Daniela Burduja, Director of the Institute of Ecology of USM, and Mr. Pavel Groza, President of Cahul District.
