Every year on April 5, rescuers and firefighters in the Republic of Moldova celebrate "Rescuer’s Day" – a holiday dedicated to a noble profession built on courage, responsibility, and sacrifice. This year marks the 18th consecutive observance of "Rescuer’s Day," reaffirming the admiration and gratitude for those who watch over our safety day after day.
To mark this occasion, a solemn ceremony honoring professionals in the field was held at the Cahul Emergency Situations Directorate. The event was attended by the President of Cahul District, Mr. Pavel GROZA; the Vice President of the district, Mr. Nicon PÎSLARI; the Consul General of Romania in Cahul, Mr. Gabriel NICOLA; the Mayor of Cahul Municipality, Mr. Nicolae DANDIȘ; the Mayor of Colibași Village, Mr. Ion DOLGANIUC; the Bishop of Southern Bessarabia, His Grace Father Veniamin; and other officials.
During the speeches, the professionalism, dedication, and spirit of sacrifice demonstrated by rescuers in managing emergency situations were highlighted, emphasizing their decisive role in protecting lives, property, and the environment.
